Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Vaccination
Information about the RSV vaccine
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common cause of coughs and colds. It usually gets better by itself, but it can be serious for some babies and older adults.
A vaccine to help protect against RSV is available on the NHS. You will be able to get the vaccine if:
- You are aged 75-79 years
- You are 28 weeks pregnant or more – this will help protect your baby for the first few months after they are born
We will be running RSV clinics for those aged 75 to 79 years. If we have a mobile number on record for you we will send a booking link which will allow you to book your appointment directly, otherwise you will receive an invite via the post or telephone. Please wait to be contacted.
If you are 28 weeks pregnant or more, from September you can speak to your maternity service or midwife about getting your RSV vaccination.
