The Hildenborough & Tonbridge Medical Group
We are a large practice (serving a population of over 16,000 patients) in Hildenborough, Tonbridge and the surrounding villages. Our main Medical Centres are located in Hildenborough and at Trenchwood in Tonbridge, with branch surgeries in Weald and Leigh. Our aim is to provide, by an effective team approach, the highest quality of progressive family health care, in a happy and compassionate environment.
We are pleased to announce that the Hildenborough & Tonbridge Medical Group is now offering the facility for patients to book their doctor appointments online using Vision Online Services (VOS).If you would like to manage your appointments online you will need to register for the service. Please either download the form here (or collect from the surgery) and give the completed form to one of our reception team so that your registration can be processed. A letter will be given to you by our receptionist either while you wait or if the staff are very busy you will be advised when to collect the letter. This letter will give details of the steps to follow in order to create your online account. Download: VOS Registration Form

Putting Patients First
The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and the National Association for Patient Participation (N.A.P.P.) are running a major campaign, called Put patients first: Back general practice, which aims to persuade the government to increase investment in general practice – so that practice teams have the resources they need to continue to provide the high quality care patients deserve.
The campaign, launched last November, has already started to make headway: generating national media coverage and persuading many prominent politicians to say publicly that general practice is underfunded. However, to convince ministers and other politicians to back up their supportive words with new resources the RGCP urgently needs the support of patients.
If the RGCP and NAPP can collect a million signatures they will be able to show politicians that patients back the cause for the level of investment in general practice to be increased from the current historic low of 8.39% to 11% of the UK NHS budget by 2017. This would allow practice teams to deliver, among other things, shorter waiting times and better continuity of care. HTMG supports the campaign and have petitions for patients to sign at Hildenborough, Trenchwood Medical Centres and Leigh and Weald surgeries, or for those who would like to sign the petition online you can do so here. Thank you for your support.
The new shingles vaccination is being targeted only for patients who were aged 70 or 79 years old as of 1st September 2013 and will be suppled to the practice in batches over the year. Please ask your doctor or nurse about vaccination at your next visit.
Protected Learning Time
The practice will be closed for up to 6 afternoons each year to allow for in-house or locally-arranged training events. These dates have been arranged for all West Kent practices by the local Clinical Commissioning Group and IC24 to ensure that primary care teams are getting the essential training and development that they need to deliver the best possible service. Cover is provided by the out of hours service during this time.

2014: Tues 16th September, Wed 22nd October.
2015: Thurs 5th February, Tues 17th March.
