One You This service encourages us all to lead healthier lives. The free online health quiz, called ‘How Are You?’, helps to identify where adults can make small lifestyle changes to take better care of themselves and take charge of their health. The quiz provides personalised recommendations and directs people to tools and advice created by experts to help them take action where it’s most needed.
Live Well Kent Designed to help you improve your physical and mental health and wellbeing, a free service for anyone over 17. You might want to improve your everyday living, become more independent and confident, meet new people, get better skills or find a job. Whatever it is, they're there to help, what is discussed will remain confidential.
Age Well Kent This service is for people aged 50 years and over who are living the West Kent Area. Age Well will work with a variety of community organisations to ensure the older person receives the appropriate support depending on their personal circumstances.
Hi Kent runs free hearing aid aftercare clinics throughout Kent. Clinics are run by trained volunteers and they will be able to change batteries, clean and re-tube hearing aids free of charge, while you wait. They also run lip reading courses.

West Kent Talking Therapies – We are With You (formerly ThinkAction) If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, panicky, low or sad, West Kent Talking Therapies can help. By providing a range of free and confidential talking therapies, face to face, over the phone and online, on behalf of the NHS. Contact Talking Therapies to find out how they can help you. You can refer yourself.
Ieso Online Talking Therapies. You can self-refer for CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) delivered through written conversation with a therapist via the internet, the service is discreet, secure and available at a time and location that suits you.

Mental Health - Including Helplines for urgent help
Mental Health Matters Helpline for people with mental health problems, their carers, families and friends. The Team can offer emotional guidance and information and help people who may be feeling low, anxious or stressed or in extreme emotional distress and feel that there is nowhere else to turn. Support is also provided to people caring for another person and finding it difficult to cope. The service is confidential unless it is considered there is a risk to yourself or others. Alcoholics Anonymous A fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.
Gamblers Anonymous UK This site offers various help for the compulsive gambler including a Forum, Chat Room, Literature and of course most importantly a meeting finder. Meetings are the core of Gamblers Anonymous and we have meetings every day of the week throughout the UK.
Social Care and Support
The Kent County Council website shows you where to get help if you or someone you care for needs support due to illness, disability, old age or low income. You can report abuse of a child or adult and find out KCC’s responsibility for public health. There is information on local services for those with specific health needs. You can contact KCC 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Citizens Advice provides free, confidential and independent advice to help people overcome their problems. We help with everything from money issues to problems at work, housing to consumer rights. Sometimes a person has more than one problem, and often they are linked. We tackle issues in the round making sure people get all of the support they need.
Age Concern UK offers advice and information to the over 50’s. They can offer some home support as well befriending services and their Day Centres offer a wide range of activity groups and events, such as lunch clubs, giving older people the opportunity to keep fit, socialise, or learn a new skill.
Compaid supports disabled and vulnerable people, their services are available to anyone with a physical or learning disability, as well as those with sensory or communication difficulties, or age related conditions. Their services are designed to help disabled and other vulnerable people to overcome the barriers of social, digital and economic exclusion.
Tonbridge and Malling Seniors Forum For those age over 50 TAMS holds meetings on alternate months, each meeting with one of more speakers, talking about subjects of use and interest to the over 50s, including services, home care, looking after yourself, health care and so on. TAMS have also held Information Days with a variety of service providers have attended.
Tonbridge Baptist Church Seniors runs various events for seniors, from coffee mornings and lunch clubs, falls prevention advice groups and other activities.
