When We Are Closed - Out of Hours Cover
If you need to contact a doctor ourside hours emergency cover is provided by 'South East Health Ltd' under contract with West Kent PCT. There are bases at Sevenoaks and Tonbridge Cottage Hospitals. The telephone number is 03000 242424
This service is only for problems which are so urgent and important that they cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Please be prepared to give full details to the receptionist who will pass the information to the doctor on duty. It is up to the doctor to decide if you need to be seen and if so, where that consultation takes place.
Only patients too frail to visit the base, the physically handicapped, or those confined to bed, are likely to be visited at home.

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call
NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
