Appointments
At both Hildenborough and Tonbridge, consultations are by appointment
only. Appointments can be made by telephone or in person.
Emergency surgeries are
held each morning, in which patients are given a guide time to attend. Please
note that you may have to wait to see the doctor if the surgery is busy. At
other times, emergencies will be seen either during or after surgery. We run
an "open" list system, which means that you may see any doctor, even if you
are not registered with him or her. Of course, it is sensible to try and see
the same doctor for a recurring problem - it makes it easier for you and for
us.
Appointments are for ten minutes
and for one person only. Please tell
the receptionist when booking if you need longer.
Please bear in mind that the doctors rotas are subject to change.
At Leigh
and Weald, no appointments are necessary, so please attend during the stated
hours and you will be seen although on a busy morning this may involve a long
wait.
Extended
Hours
Additional surgeries are held on Monday evenings between 6.30pm
and 8pm at Trenchwood Medical Centre and on Saturday mornings
between 8am and 12pm at Hildenborough Medical Centre.
These appointments are provided for those patients who cannot
access the surgery during normal opening hours (8am to 6.30pm
Monday to Friday).

Out of Hours Cover
This is provided by
South East Health
under contract with
West Kent PCT. There are bases at Sevenoaks and
Tonbridge Cottage Hospitals.
The telephone number is
0845
155 2255.
The service is only for problems
which are so urgent and important that they cannot wait until the surgery
re-opens.
Please be prepared to give full details to the receptionist who will
pass the information to the doctor on duty. It is up to the doctor to decide
if you need to be seen and if so,
where that consultation takes place.
Only patients too frail to visit
the base, the physically handicapped, or those confined to bed,
are likely to be visited at
home.
Home
Visits
These are for patients who are too ill
to attend surgery. For urgent visits, please telephone your surgery and you
will be put in touch with the doctor on call. Please take care when dialling,
especially at night-time. For non-urgent visits, please telephone your surgery
before 11.00am so that the doctor can plan the day before leaving surgery.
After 11.00am, non-urgent visits may have to wait until the following day.

Telephone
Advice
Please telephone before 10.30am. You will be asked to leave
your contact details and the doctor will phone you back, usually
after morning surgery.
Our staff have strict instructions not to interrupt a consultation
unless it is an emergency. |
